| Review: | expected more for cost Captiva Island, Florida. Took two courses, basic keelboat and bareboat. The first course was on a Colgate 26. The instructor was very knowledgeable and patient. The three day class was good starting at 8 and ending around 4. The second class, bareboat certifacation was a four day course a different instructor and on a 49 foot Hunter. Two days the class ended around 2 oclock. I did learn a lot at the school since I had only sailed on inland lakes. I felt that more docking procedures could have been taught, more of what to expect when leasing a yacht, and more hands on sailing. The resort basically shutdown at six, including the pool. The seven Colgate 26 keelboats sat idle while we had to share the Hunter with another group. I felt that as soon as the subject of the day was covered, class was over. The brochure stated that class room instruction was from 8 AM to 6PM which never happened. I do not have any other school to compare Offshore with but feel it could have been better. |

The five day bareboat course we run is 1/2 day schedules, not full days. We start at 0800 and finsh no later than 2:00 pm unless weather issues dictate a change in the sailing schedule, i.e. sailing in the afternoon. All of our literature and information clearly describe the 5 day bareboat schedule. |
