Review: Black Rock is Exceptional
My wife and I have taken three courses from Black Rock: Basic Keelboat (ASA 101), Basic Coastal Crusing (ASA 103), and Bareboat Charter (ASA 104). The quality of our experience could not have been better. The boats and all equipment were new or nearly so and everything was well maintained. The instruction was truly exceptional. Brenton L. is a gifted teacher.

The Basic Keelboat and Basic Coastal Crusing courses were done in and around Boston Harbor. This is a bit of a chaotic environment and could easily be intimidating. Brenton made it exciting and great fun. On one day we took advantage of windy, rainy weather to build experience and confidence.

The recently completed Bareboat Charter course was done in the British Virgin Islands and this was a remarkable experience. Brenton's knowledge of the BVI, his expertise as a sailor, and his ability as a teacher combined to provide an unforgettable experience.

There are many places that one can learn something about sailing a boat. If your goal is to become a real sailor, Black Rock should be your first choice.

Review: Sailing classes in the BVI's
I just came back from a week long sailing training in the BVI's with Black Rock Sailing school. I've known our intructor Brenton Lochridge for several years and he's wonderful. My wife and I had different level of sailing experience and Brenton was able to accomodate the training to our individual needs. At the end of the week we both got our ASA bareboat charter (104) certification, and significantly increased our confidence. The boat BRSS used was a brand new Hunter 41 DS which we found very comfortable and easy to learn on.
