Review: Best place to learn
Unless you want to race competitively, Tradewinds is the place to learn and sail. The classes and instructors are all top-notch and the variety of boats gives you a feel for handling everything from 'classic plastic' to light and modern. Super family run business that is unmatched for value.

Review: Former skeptic
I was skeptical because of the price, not believing it could be much good for the price they are charging for lessons and boat rental programs. I was pleasantly surprised! The instructors are very experienced and patient. The boats are not all new but no one gets too upset if some one happens to run into a pier!

Review: Best Deal in the Bay
The instructors we had at Tradewinds were both knowledgeable and good teachers. The three-class "package deal" is hard to beat and the Tradewinds staff will work with you to make sure that you get what you need from the classes. Best deal in the Bay!

Review: Awesome school!!
The Tradewinds Sailing School staff are very helpful, encouraging and "student-centered." The variety of knowledgeable and experienced sailors who serve as instructors adds to the learning experience. I am just starting to learn how to sail but Robert McReary (sp) was the best instructor so far! I think it is great that they have a woman instructor; I plan to enroll in one of her classes. I also like the location of the school because you don’t have to search for parking as the lot adjacent to the school is very handy, has lots of parking spaces, a café and other attractions. The boats at Point Richmond and Richmond Marina, are quickly accessible by I-580 off the Marina Parkway or Point Richmond area. I think having a family-run business has added that extra-touch, making Tradewinds Sailing School and Club a great experience. (and believe me, we checked out the other schools prior to joining Tradewinds!).

Bruce and his family are the greatest! They are friendly, resonably priced and helpful. The instructors are knowledgable and patient. My husband and I took several classes and now feel ready to take on the world... :)
