Review: Can't compare..
This is the only school and club I've sailed with so I really can't compare. However, whether just plain good marketing or reality - OCSC has a great reputation among sailors. They have very good instruction if you want to take learning serious or let's say very serious. I would equate OCSC to the military schools of sailing in the SF Bay Area. The instructors vary in attitude, experience, and instructional aptitude. However, I would say that the younger instructors are much more focused on the good looking female students than others in each class. You can see their rates for boats and instruction online. Though more expensive then other places, you do get great value as they are dedicated to making sure you are a great sailor once you complete your certifications. I'm thinking about joining a different club as I don't see OCSC being very competitive in the quality and cost of chartering boats. I've seen many students move on to other local clubs just for better bareboat chartering. It isn't apparent that the school is about making money, I think all of their hearts are 100% into teaching sailing and playing an important part to the continuing sailing community in the area and across the country.
