Review: Southern Comfort Charters Teaches Hands On
I sailed with Southern Comfort charters aboard the ketch Southern Comfort in 2006. I had coastal sailing experience but had never done an overnight passage or serious offshore sailing. Captain Mike Calhoun was an excellent teacher; patient, professional, always willing to explain sail trim, navigation, rules of the road and boat systems. I know he teaches ASA cetification, but all I wanted was a week of offshore sailing experience to see if I would like ocean voyaging. I volunteered as crew for the experience of sailing from Long Island, NY via Bermuda to St. Thomas and I am hooked. It was a thrilling experience
