| Review: | Sailing School In Thailand We had a great time learning to sail over the festive period. Our instructor installed confidence with relaxed leadership and kept the entire family positive about sailing. During the course we covered all the course criteria and more, with the instructor answering all our questions in clarity and depth. My family and i now feel confident to take a yacht out by ourselves. The weather was great with many different sailing conditions. The winds were perfect most of the time far exceeding my expectations with a few squalls passing through which were good to learn from. The yacht was in good working order and had no problems with any of its equipment during the course. The training vessels were clean and laid out well with the ropes and lines marked to make it easier to identify which rope to pull/release. All the staff at Yachtpro are happy and helpful from the office staff to the boat boys. The administration side was great from the start with emails answered very fast and detailed information received. I think Yachtpro is a very good sail training company and I will be coming back to Phuket to Bareboat charter a yacht from them in the near future Comments [ 0 ] |

| Review: | An Excellent Introduction My son and I completed a Keelboat course with Yachtpro. This course ran for three days and by the end we could sail around by ourselves with no problem. The course covered many aspects of sailing in just three days, with the majority of the time spent on the water. We learnt the basic terminology and sail theory and progressed quickly. By the last day we could safely conduct man-overboard recovery scenarios, stopping and sailing back to the mooring with no assistance from our instructor. Our instructors were very responsive to our questions and we felt quite at ease. Being young with lots of energy you could tell they enjoyed their job which made our course even more pleasurable and rewarding. I couldn’t have thought of anything better to do with my son for a couple of days during our holiday, being together having fun and learning a new skill. Comments [ 0 ] |

| Review: | A Great Experience Learning To Sail I have just got back from Phuket after having a great experience learning to sail with Yachtpro, w I found Yachtpro on the internet www.sailing-thailand.com. I contacted them via email and within a couple of hours I had an informative response with course structures and prices. My aim was to be able to learn how to charter a sailing yacht for vacations with family or friends. I was recommended to do the ASA Fast Track to Bareboat Charter course lasting 8 days which was tailored to people like myself with limited sailing experience. Singapore to Phuket is only a couple of hours away by plane and with many low cost carriers, the prices are very affordable. Yachtpro is based at Yacht Haven Marina only 15mins from Phuket International airport. I stayed in Yachtpro’s Studio Marina apartment, 3 minutes walking distance to Yachtpro’s office. The yachts and various restaurants are close by. If you prefer hotels and resorts there are many to choose from within 20 mins. Upon arrival I was made to feel very welcome and felt instantly at ease. A little time was spent in the classroom learning basic sailing terminology, knots and objectives. The majority of the time was given to the practical side of controlling a keelboat and sail trim in a very safe and calm environment with a perfect 10knots of breeze. My instructor was very good at explaining terms with simple diagrams and took great pride in making us understand with a fun and enthusiastic approach. The next two days we learnt about handling a bigger yacht. We covered anchoring, reefing, berthing and yachts systems etc. first in the classroom and then on the yacht. This was very informative and was delivered in a well thought out and expressive way. On our fourth afternoon we completed a route plan for our 4 day live-aboard, starting the following day. This again was explained very well and we learnt how to plan for a trip including, weather, current, Transits, obstructions, fuel, safe anchorages and alternates. Planning our trip made me very excited about our live-aboard adventure. The Live-aboard part of the trip was excellent and ultimately taught me how to safely skipper a yacht. The scenery was magnificent high limestone islands tinted orange and yellow emerged from the sea in Phang nga Bay. Countless Beautiful sandy beaches stretching along lush islands, fringed with coral reefs. We stopped in the late afternoon each day at a different anchorage. We slept on the boat at anchor with the gentle motion of the ocean calming us to sleep. I learnt so much during my eight days with Yachtpro. They have enthusiastic instructors who aim to guide you through your course answering any questions that you have. The yachts are all very well maintained and in very good condition. From my first email to my last “goodbye” i was so impressed with Yachtpro’s service that I would recommend their courses to anyone. After passing my course my aim now in the very near future is to charter a yacht for a week in Phuket from Yachtpro and consolidate what I have learnt. Comments [ 0 ] |

| Review: | I have had an amazing time sailing in Thailand I would recommend tacking courses with Yachtpro to anyone that wants to learn how to sail correctly with trained professionals. Courses are aimed for people working to achieve official certifications but also can be structured to offer holiday sails for people who want to learn in a non pressured, holiday environment. Chartering and sailing in Thailand is so much more laid back than in and around America. It is well worth the plane fare for the experience. I could not have had a better time learning to sail in Phuket, the instruction was great the area we sailed was perfect for beginners and very beautiful. After my courses I have undertaken bareboat charters also from Yachtpro, i had a few minor problems with equipment during the times when I was on my own. | Review: | I Highly Recommend Yachpro Having little experience on sailing yachts before I signed up for a Yachtpro fast track course. We had a great time, the sailing was beautiful passing between big limestone islands. The course was nicely balanced between sail training and time for enjoying the sunset and taking a pictures of the surroundings. My instructor acted professionally at all times and I had complete confidence in him on board. We felt comfortable, had good sharing on sailing experiences and learnt allot. I was impressed by the techniques Yachtpro use. The instructor was friendly and extremely helpfull, he conducted exercises until i felt complete confidence in controlling the sailing boat. | Review: | The Course Was Very Comprehensive We have both completed our bareboat charter course and a subsequent charter on our own with Yachtpro, Both were very rewarding experiences. From the very first moment our emails were responded to swiftly and friendly. Staff was very helpful to arrange for airport pick-up and Hotel arrangements and any other requests we might have. The boats are in a very good condition, clean and really nice to sail.The equipment on board was rather new and in good working conditions The course was very comprehensive and after completing it we felt quite confident to take out the boat on our own. Which has proven to be true. The instructors explanations were very good and easy to understand. The sailing area is just the most beautiful in the region and easy to sail even for beginners. Very scenic, you are always close to shore. There is a multitude of beautiful beaches to explore and many islands have tasty and cheap food available. We enjoyed our time with the instructor who was enthusiastic to the cause. The instructor was extremely knowledgeable, patient, conscientious and intuitive when it came to my learning needs and desires. | Review: | A Remarkable Experienc I would like to thank Yachtpro for the wonderful experience their entire staff provided me during my eight day Fast Track to Bareboat Charter course and recommend them. The office staff patiently answered my one-thousand-and-one questions, helped me with my travel arrangements, and were very accommodating to my very hectic military schedule. I cannot stress enough how very helpful it was to have all my questions answered quickly and completely. The office staff being there on a Sunday afternoon (and throughout the entire training period for that matter) to assist with my accommodations is also well worth mentioning. Now, as a certified U.S. Army trainer, I was prepared for a rigid course that would not be as flexible as I would have liked while on my training holiday. Boy was I gladly mistaken! Both of my trainers, Mit and Antony, were extremely knowledgeable, very professional, and never once made me feel dim-witted for not understanding something. As a student with literally no sailing experience, I don’t think that I could have asked for better trainers. While on my four day live-aboard, Mit was an invaluable wealth of information on both sailing and the local areas to which we sailed. Rob accommodated all my needs and requests with ease. | Review: | A Great Time I went to Phuket with a friend who had previously done courses with Yachtpro. We did a day sail refresher then a bareboat with instructor, to brush up my friend and teach me the basics. I learnt lots and had a great time. | Review: | YachtPro exceeded my expectations I just came back from the first part of the ASA Coastal Skipper course. YachtPro was recommended to me by friends in Shanghai. I contacted the owner, Rob Williams, middle of last year, and he went out of his way to make an individualized course schedule for me and my friend, to fit our holiday schedules. Rob and his professional team made this course a great success, and a wonderful holiday. The location and facilities are fantastic, the boats modern and well maintained, and the staff professional, and friendly. Rob's extensive sailing experience, and Mit's patience and enthousiasm, taught me a lot of things you can not find in any book. | Review: | Decades of sailing experience I took 3 courses at Yachtpro in 2005 and late 2006, ASA keelboat to ASA bareboat charter. Both my instructors, Rob Williams, owner of Yachtpro with some decades of sailing experience which he is very willing to share, and also Mit, the Thai instructor, led me through the courses with a lot of knowledge and humour. I went there without prior sailing experience and they brought me to a level that I have been able to take out and enjoy - together with my family - sailing holidays in the Whitsundays, the Baltic and of course Phang Nga Bay.
