Excellent 9-day dayskipper course in Portugal
I have just come back from Portugal having completed a 9-day day skipper course with OnDeck out there. A friend recommended OnDeck to me, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone else looking for a course.

The 9-day format is intense, but you certainly feel you have learnt everything you need to. The teaching of both theory and practical was excellent, and the classes were small enough to ensure that the instructors had plenty of time to focus on each student.

The Dehler 39 that we did the practical part of the course on is an excellent boat, very good for teaching and sailed beautifully. It was clean and well maintained.

Vilamoura itself is very touristy, and I normally prefer somewhere a little more off the beaten track, but the facilities are excellent and there are loads of good bars and restaurants, so it is actually an ideal base for a sailing school. The weather there was fantastic and the sailing area is lovely - the dolphins were an added bonus too!
