| Review: | Yachtmaster Fast Track Having just read some of the other school reviews, purely out of interest, I thought that I’d take the time to send in a review about Alfer Sea School in Gibraltar, where I completed a 16 week fast track course. I really don’t have any complaints. The tuition was excellent, which, let’s face it is why I was there! The boats aren’t brand new, but they’re well maintained and clean, although I think that they do have another new boat now. The people are friendly and nice – nothing was ever too much trouble for any of them and they are very approachable. My emails prior to the course had all been answered promptly and very well and I thought that was a good indication that the school was well run. I was not disappointed when I got there. I was very happy with the whole experience and I’ve recommended the school to friends who have also been thoroughly happy with their courses. Alfer isn’t the cheapest school and they don’t have any shoreside facilities, but we didn’t really spend very much time in Gibraltar because we were out sailing every week, so I don’t think that I missed anything. You can plug in your laptop and iPod on the boat, so you can listen to music and watch films if you have any time spare. Their YM course is quite long, 16 weeks, but having done it, I was pleased for that extra couple of weeks as really helped to consolidate everything me. Don’t worry about booking with this school. They are very good and I think that a lot of their clients are returning clients, I met lots whilst I was there, which is again another good indicater about the school in general. |
